Frequently asked questions
Why do I still see activities of other classes?
Usually the class is missing (or written differently) in the title, so the activity counts as “without a class” and stays. Check the preview in the planner: it shows per activity why it stays or disappears. You can also switch off the toggle for activities without a class.
How often is my calendar refreshed?
The filtered calendar is rebuilt every hour. Your calendar app fetches the changes itself, and Google Calendar can take up to 24 hours to do so.
Can I use it for two children?
Yes. Tick both classes, for example K2 and L4. Both children then appear in one calendar. Two separate calendars are not possible with the same link.
What happens on 1 July?
On the rollover date every selected class with “move up” moves one place in the list: K2 becomes K3, K3 becomes L1 and L6 drops off. The calendar link stays the same.
Can I change the date?
Yes, under Rollover date you choose a day and month. After changing it, click ‘Create calendar link’ again.
What if my child repeats a year?
Untick “move up next school year” for that class. The class stays selected and does not move along.
Is this official Smartschool?
No. This is an independent hobby project that only uses the calendar link you copy from Smartschool yourself.
Is it free?
Yes, free and without an account. The source code is open (MIT license).
How do I remove everything?
Paste your Smartschool link in the planner and click ‘Delete settings’. More details are on the privacy page.
Is my calendar private?
Anyone who knows your Smartschool link or calendar link can see your filtered calendar. There is no password, so do not share the links.
